This was wonderful. I have been wondering whats in the battery, and particularly what the 14 DC to DC converter looked like. I do not think I will have it in me to work on this sort of thing ever. I am just not careful enough normally. It is too much of a stretch. But, I would have used a plastic tool to open the individual cell covers even though your little screw drive looks to short to do anything, and the ground is disconnected.

It would be interesting to compare real-world performance of the Honda version with that of the RAV4. It seems the RAV4 can use both gas engine and battery when the loads are higher, so is the RAV4 acceleration better than the CRV's? Also, what about fuel economy, how do they compare? Drivability? The Honda will drive like a totally electric vehicle that is carrying a portable charger with it, while the RAV4 will act more like a traditional hybrid. These are relatively new designs, so it's hard to get anything like long-term reliability results. The Toyota hybrids have been perfected over several decades and they've demonstrated quality and reliability. How's Honda's system doing? Other factors, like cost and trim will factor into purchasing considerations as well. Even availability, as I know there are months-long waiting lists for some models...

Toyota does not issue licenses for non-OEM fluids. Therefore, all of them are bad. That is what Toyota wants you to think.

Wouldn't it be better to carefully drain whole pan, take out plug and straw assembly and losing zero fluid. Wait for it to cool to room temp, same as replacement fluid, then fill with exactly what drained out?

I have a question, can someone please help me? In the Toyota RAV4 2024 HEV or PHEV there are three electric motors: two electric motors are in the front of the car and one electric motor is in the rear axle. Are the two electric motors that are “in the front of the car” inside or outside the eCVT transmission?

Apparently you don’t need to change the transmission fluid? I have a 2015 Lexus NX 300h. According to my service book, there’s no fluid change and Lexus where I live in Australia said they don’t change the fluid…I think that’s strange. Cheers
